H.M.S. Nerissa was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

In April, 1916 Nerissa was assigned to the newly-created Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.

At the Battle of Jutland, she screened the First Battle Cruiser Squadron as one of twelve destroyers operating with the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla. Her captain, Lt Cdr. M. G. B. Legge wrote in his report that she fired two torpedoes from 7,000 yards at the German I Scouting Group at 4.30, shortly after the Germans had reversed course to the South. Legge believed that one of his torpedoes may have struck the last German ship in the line, but no hits were made.

She paid off on 20 November, 1919.
