H.M.S. Nereus was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

In 1916, she trialed a Wise Pressure Telegraphy System Type A for torpedo control.

Nereus joined the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla in May 1916, but did not participate in the Battle of Jutland. In November, 1917, she was one of eight "M"s evicted from 13 D.F., being sent directly to the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla where she was under the command of the Commander-in-Chief, Devonport.

She was reduced to C. & M. Party at Chatham on 10 October, 1919.
