U.S.S. Trever was one of one hundred and fifty-six Clemson Class destroyers completed for the U.S. Navy. She was named for George A. Treveer, who'd been killed in an accidental explosion aboard submarine O-5.
Service
Trever was commissioned on 3 August, 1922 under Lieutenant Harold E. Snow in command.
