H.M.S. Thracian was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

She was completed in 1920.

Service

Re-commissioned on 17 January, 1925 for duty in the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla of the Atlantic Fleet.[6]

Re-commissioned at the Nore on 7 January, 1927 under the command of Hamilton Edward Snepp for service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla on the China Station.[7]

Re-commissioned at Hong Kong on 1 October, 1929 for continued service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla on the China Station.[8]

Re-commissioned in Reserve at Chatham on 12 February, 1932.[9]

Commissioned on 26 October, 1936 under the command of Lt. Cdr. Tancock for service on the China Station.[10]
