H.M.S. Seraph was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.
Service
Seraph was re-commissioned at Malta on 13 September, 1920.[6]
She was re-commissioned at Devonport with 2/5ths crew on 4 December, 1923.[7]
Re-commissioned at the Nore on 7 January, 1927 for duty with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla on the China Station.[8]
Re-commissioned at Hong Kong on 1 October, 1929 for service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla.[9]
She paid off into Reserve at Devonport on 11 May, 1932.[10]
In 1934, her bell was offered for sale to naval officers and others who might be interested, at the price of £5 or perhaps £1. Interested parties were to write the Director of Stores and were urged to include any special information which might convey the importance they attach to the bell, in light of the Admiralty's understanding that such items carry great sentimental value.[11]
