H.M.S. Senator was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

At some point in 1918, a torpedo ran hot in its tube when testing firing gear. The vibration caused the warhead and pistol to fall onto the deck![6]

She recommissioned at Devonport on 21 May, 1919.[7]

Re-commissioned at Devonport with Reserve Crew 21 September, 1923 as part of the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla with the Atlantic Fleet.[8]
