H.M.S. Turquoise was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending. She was completed after the war.
Service
On 17 January 1921, Turquoise collided with Tourmaline off Ryde Pier as the two departed Portland to join the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla for a three month cruise with the Atlantic Fleet. The two had to go to Portsmouth to await repairs.[6]
Turquoise was re-commissioned on 16 July, 1921.[7]
The ship paid off into the Rosyth Maintenance Reserve on 17 November, 1927.[8]
In June of 1933, her bell was one of about 100 surplus bells announced as being for sale at prices ranging from £1 to £10. Preference would be given to those offers from men with a special consideration in the bell in question.[9]
