H.M.S. Tattoo was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

She was transferred into the Royal Australian Navy in early 1920, shortly after entering service, bcoming H.M.A.S. Tattoo.

Service

Paid off into reserve at Sydney on 6 October, 1921.[6]

She commissioned in "C" Class Reserve at Westernport on 8 January, 1935.[7]
