Admiral (retired) SIR Marshal Llewelyn Clarke, D.S.C., C.B., K.B.E., R.N. (9 May, 1887 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Basutoland.

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1909.

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1917.

Post-War

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1922.

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1929.

Clarke was appointed in command of the light cruiser Concord in December, 1929.

World War II

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 5 January, 1940.

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 3 April, 1943.

Clarke was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Admiral on 16 October, 1945.
