Thomas Hope Troubridge

Vice-Admiral SIR Thomas Hope Troubridge, K.C.B., D.S.O.* (1 February, 1895 – 29 September, 1949) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Rear-Admiral (later Admiral) Ernest C. T. Troubridge.

Troubridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1916.

Troubridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1924.

Troubridge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1929.

Troubridge was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1934.

World War II

Troubridge was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 12 January, 1943.

Troubridge was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 31 January, 1947.

Troubridge was informed on 18 August, 1949 that he was to be placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 15 October, but he died of a cerebral haemorrhage on 29 September.
