H.M.S. Griffin was one of thirty-five "G","H" and "I" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned on 6 March, 1936 for service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[4]

On 20 March 1943, Griffin was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy and was renamed H.M.C.S. Ottawa.

Ottawa was decommissioned on 31 October 1945 and scrapped early the next year.
