H.M.S. Melton was one of thirty-two Ascot Class paddle minesweepers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Melton collided with Epsom on 22 August, 1916, resulting in a severe reprimand for T/A Lt. William Quinn McKeown.[7]
Croxton's Lieutenant R.N.R. in Command Taylor was found to blame and cautioned after a 15 August 1917 collision with Melton.
In January, 1921, she was at Southampton, one of twenty-eight paid off minesweepers there.[8]
Paid off 9 December, 1922.[9]
