Randolph Frank Ollive Foote
Admiral SIR Randolph Frank Ollive Foote, K.C.B., C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (14 May, 1853 – 28 November, 1931) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Foote was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1884.[1]
Foote was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1891.[2]
He was placed in command of the battleship Repulse in June 1899, staying until September of 1900.
He served as captain of Ocean from May 1903 until February of 1904.
Flag Rank
Foote was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 March, 1904, vice Dyke Acland.[3]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 22 March, 1908, vice Dyke Acland.[4] In accordance with the provisions of the Orders in Council of 16 July, 1895 and 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List on 15 March, 1911.[5] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 18 September.[6]
On 1 January, 1914, he was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).[7]
On 1 May 1916, he was appointed Assistant Inspector by the Ministry of Munitions at a salary of £500. On 25 May he was made Inspector, with a salary of £650, 10% to be abated in allowance for civil emoluments.
