Herbert Annesley Packer

Admiral SIR Herbert Annesley Packer, K.C.B., C.B.E., Royal Navy (9 October, 1894 – 23 September, 1962) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Packer was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1915.[1]

Packer was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1923.[2]

Packer was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929.[3]

Packer was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1935.[4]

World War II

Packer was appointed in command of the battleship Warspite in January, 1943.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 January, 1945.[5]

Packer was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 2 September, 1948.[6]

Packer was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 15 March, 1952. He was palced on the Retired List on 18 March, 1953.[7]
