Herbert Annesley Packer

Admiral SIR Herbert Annesley Packer, K.C.B., C.B.E., Royal Navy (9 October, 1894 – 23 September, 1962) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Packer was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1915.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1923.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1935.

World War II

Packer was appointed in command of the battleship Warspite in January, 1943.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 January, 1945.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 2 September, 1948.

Packer was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 15 March, 1952. He was palced on the Retired List on 18 March, 1953.
