H.M.S. Flying Fish was one of forty "C" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".

Service

In mid-1913, she was operating with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

On 22 July, 1913 while under the command ofLt. in Command Michael K. H. Kennedy, Flying Fish collided with a buoy at Dover. The Admiral of Patrols John de Robeck informed Kennedy that he had demonstrated a lack of seamanlike care and forethought on the occasion.[9]

Captains

With some ambiguity, it somehow seems that Flying Fish and Spiteful shared commanders Nicholson and Sparks.

Dates of appointment are provided when known.
