Commander (retired) Victor Isaac Griffith, (5 May, 1888 – 27 December, 1944) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Griffith was born in London, the son of J. C.[?] Griffith.[1]

Griffith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1910. During the Great War, he served as navigator in Yarmouth, Doris[?], Severn, Challenger and Caroline.[2]

Griffith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1918.[3]

Griffith was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 1 November, 1929.[4]

World War II

Griffith served in cable ships during the war.

He was appointed in command of the cable ship H.M.S. Lasso on 1 February, 1944. It is unclear what caused his death later that year.[5]
