H.M.S. Challenger was one of two Challenger class cruisers completed in 1904 and 1905.

Service

Challenger recommissioned at Sydney on 9 December, 1910.[7]

Part of the Australia Squadron, on 12 June 1911 Challenger departed Salina Cruz for Acapulco under the command of Captain Guy R. A. Gaunt.[8]

Challenger returned to England in mid 1912 and recommissioned at Devonport on 1 November, 1912.[9][10]
