H.M.S. Walker was one of twenty-one "W" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Walker joined the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla in February, 1918[7] and

In 1918, Tormentor collided with Walker, and Tormentor's Lieutenant-Commander Percy John Helyar was told to be more careful in future.

Walker remained with 11 D.F. until it was disbanded in March, 1919, at which point she was allocated along with the Eleventh's other "V"s and "W"s to the newly-fashioned First Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 9 December, 1920.[9]

Walker was re-commissioned at Devonport on 3 May, 1923. By March 1925, she was working with the First Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[10]

Walker was re-commissioned at Devonport on 4 September, 1928 for service with the Fifth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic Fleet.[11]

She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 11 November, 1930 for continuing service with the Fifth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic Fleet.[12]
