H.M.S. Wrestler was one of twenty-one "W" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Sometime, likely in 1918, Wrestler collided with the battleship Conqueror. The destroyer's captain, Cdr. Edward McConnell Wyndham Lawrie was faulted for not having been on deck at the time of a course change.

Wrestler re-commissioned on 1 December, 1920.[7]

She re-commissioned with reduced crew on 18 May, 1922 under command of Lieutenant-Commander Kenneth H. Grant.[8]

She stayed under reduced crew until at least early 1929.[9]

She was commissioned for trials at Chatham on 29 October, 1930.[10]

Wrestler was commissioned at Portsmouth on 17 November, 1936 for service in the Portsmouth Local Destroyer Flotilla.[11]
