H.M.S. Handy (1895)
Builder: Fairfield[1]
Ordered: 1893-94[2]
Laid down: 7 Jun, 1894[3]
Launched: 9 Mar, 1895[4]
Commissioned: Oct, 1895[5]
Broken up: 1916[6]

H.M.S. Handy was one of forty-two destroyers of the "A" class — a "27 knotter".

Service

In July, 1904, complaints from Vice-Admiral Noel of the China Station about the condition of his T.B.s and T.B.D.s prompted a review of his assets by First Lord of the Admiralty Selborne. Within, it was noted that Handy's boilers were being re-tubed and her hull and machinery refitted, work to be completed on 23 July.[7]
