H.M.S. Fame was one of eighteen "E" and "F" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Lady Pound, the wife of Second Sea Lord, Vice-Admiral Sir Dudley Pound performed the naming ceremony for Fame at her launching on 28 June, 1934. Two sisters were launched the same day: Firedrake and Forester.[3]

Fame was re-commissioned at Plymouth on 29 April, 1935 for service in the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet.[4]

She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 3 March, 1936 for service in the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet.[5]
