H.M.S. Cumberland was one of seven Kent Class cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Cumberland commissioned at Chatham on 8 December, 1927.[7]

She completed to full complement at Chatham on 18 February, 1930.[8]

She re-commissioned at Chatham on 13 May, 1936 for service on the China Station as part of the Fifth Cruiser Squadron, bearing Commander-in-Chief, China Station, Vice-Admiral Sir Charles James Colebrooke Little.[9]
