Commander Gordon Ivor Hughes, (11 September, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.

Life & Career

Gordon Ivor Hughes was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire to Robert Raines Hughes and Florence Eleanor Bedford.[1]

Hughes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June 1923.[2]

Hughes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1931.[3]

He seems to disappear from the few Navy Lists we have from this era. I wonder if I have identified the wrong man in the ship captain role we have declared for him.
