Kenneth MacLeod
Captain Kenneth MacLeod, (22 October, 1882 – 23 February, 1927) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Kenneth MacLeod, M.D., Brigadier Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel [?] was born in Calcutta.
MacLeod was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1903.
MacLeod was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1911.[1]
Great War
MacLeod was appointed to the armoured cruiser Bacchante as navigating officer on 1 August, 1915.[2]
MacLeod was seriously injured in a storm in November, 1915 and was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1915.[3]
Post-War
MacLeod was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1921.
On 17 August, 1925 he was admitted to Haslar Hospital to be treated for emphysema.
MacLeod was appointed as Captain Superintendent of Contract-Built Ships on 22 July, 1926. Early in 1927, he was hospitalised for what may have been a brain disease. He died at 3am on 23 February, 1927, according to a telegram from Newcastle-on-Tyne.
