Life & Career
Unusually, Arliss has "(Independent)" written in where his guardian upon entry was to be noted.
Arliss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1917.
Arliss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1925.
Arliss was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1931.
Arliss was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1937.
Arliss was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 5 July, 1946.
Arliss retired on 29 November, 1949 and was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 1 May, 1950.
