H.M.S. Neptune was one of five Leander Class light cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Completed to Full Complement at Portsmouth on 24 February, 1934. By mid-1934, she was serving with the Second Cruiser Squadron of the Home Fleet,[5] remaining there until at least mid-1937.[6]
Neptune sank after striking four mines in the Mediterranean. Only one man survived in the end.

- Captain Denham M. T. Bedford, 14 December, 1935[7] – 19 July, 1937

- Captain Rory C. O'Conor, May, 1940[8] – 19 December, 1941[9] (killed when vessel lost)
