H.M.S. Leander was one of five Leander Class light cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Leander was commissioned for trials on 25 November, 1932.[5]
She was commissioned at Plymouth on 23 March, 1933 for service with the Second Cruiser Squadron of the Home Fleet.[6]
Commissioned at Devonport on 30 April, 1937 for service with the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.[7] She served under command of Royal Navy officers while in New Zealand service, but reverted to Royal Navy (H.M.S.) in December, 1944.[8]
