H.M.S. Pelorus was one of eleven Pelorus class cruisers completed for the Royal Navy between 1898 and 1901.
Service
Pelorus commissioned at Chatham on 30 March, 1897, under the command of Captain Edward H. Bayly.[7]
She completed to full crew at Devonport 28 May, 1912.[8]
She proceeded to Gibraltar and then Aden as she traveled out to relieve Proserpine on the East Indies Station.[9]
At the outbreak of the Great War, Pelorus joined Cruiser Force F of the Channel Fleet before being sent to join Cruiser Force E.[10]
