Rear-Admiral John Leslie Burr, R.N. (14 August, 1847 – 13 November, 1917) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Burr was promoted to the rank of Commander on 21 June, 1887.
On 27 January, 1891, Burr was appointed to the torpedo cruiser Porpoise, additional, to take command when she recommissioned at the China Station.[1]
Burr was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1894.
Burr gave up command of the Porpoise on 11 March, 1894 and arrived home on 22 August. In October, he started at the Royal Naval College, at half pay.[2]
Burr was appointed in command of the first class protected cruiser Andromeda on 5 September, 1899.[3]
