Francis Raymond Pelly

Rear-Admiral (retired) Francis Raymond Pelly, (19 December, 1850 – 15 November, 1907) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Pelly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 December, 1874.

Pelly was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1889.

Pelly was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1896.

In 1903, Pelly's Benbow turned in poor results in a Prize Firing, eliciting displeasure from the Admiralty.

Pelly was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 19 December, 1905 and subsequently promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 23 November, 1906. He died a little less than a year after retirement.
