H.M.S. Worcester was one of fifteen destroyers of the Modified "W" class. She was completed well after the end of the war.
Service
Worcester was not completed until September, 1922. She was re-commissioned on 16 November, 1922.[7]
She was re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 8 October, 1923 for service with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[8]
Re-commissioned on 21 August, 1928 for service with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]
Reduced to Reserve at Malta on 31 May, 1931,[10] she was re-commissioned on 28 December for service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in ther Mediterranean.[11]
In 1934, her bell was offered for sale to naval officers and others who might be interested, at the price of £5 or perhaps £1. Interested parties were to write the Director of Stores and were urged to include any special information which might convey the importance they attach to the bell, in light of the Admiralty's understanding that such items carry great sentimental value.[12]
She was re-commissioned at Malta on 26 August, 1935 for service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[13]
The ship was re-commissioned in Reserve at Portsmouth on 9 June, 1937.[14]
