H.M.S. E 2 was one of fifty-seven "E" class submarines completed in Britain before and during the Great War.

Service

Completed at Chatham in July 1913, E 2 was ordered to join the Eighth Submarine Flotilla in Portsmouth and was escorted there by Adamant.[6]

On 8 September, 1915 Lt. Harold Vernon Lyon was lost overboard and drowned.[7]
