Edward Wollaston Kitson
Captain (retired) Edward Wollaston Kitson, Royal Navy (7 March, 1888 – 18 February, 1944) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Captain E. Kitson of Paynsford Newton Abbot.
Kitson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1909.[1]
Kitson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1917.[2]
Kitson was granted the acting rank of Commander on 29 August, 1918.[3]
Post-War
Kitson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1923.[4]
Kitson was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 7 March, 1934.[5]
World War II
Kitson was mobilised in 1938 to serve as Extended Defence Officer for Plymouth.[6]
Kitson was faulted for sa collision between H.M.T. [illeg] and S.S. Siak, 1941 or so.[7]
