Alexander Finlayson

Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Alexander Finlayson, D.S.C., R.N. (1 November, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Finlayson was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 10 June, 1915.[1]

Finlayson was promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Lieutenant R.N.R. on 11 December, 1915 and appointed to Victory, additional, for command of an armed trawler in Units 123 or 124, in Auxiliary Patrol Area XII.[2]

Finlayson was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. on 10 June, 1917.[3]

Finlayson was granted leave to sit for the Board of Trade Certificate as ex-Master on 30 October, 1919, and demobilised on 21 January, 1920.[4]
