Captain Herbert Wyndham Williams, (1 December, 1897 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of solicitor L. G. Williams, Esq..

Williams was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1918.[1]

Williams was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1926.[2]

Williams was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1932.[3]

Williams was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1940.[4]

Williams commanded the minelayer Manxman from 22 February, 1943 to 20 May, 1943.[5]

Williams held command of the light cruiser Sirius from 20 May, 1943 to 20 June, 1943.[6]

Williams again commanded the minelayer Manxman from 20 June, 1943 to some time in July, 1943.[7]

He was placed on the Retired List on 7 January, 1950.[8]
