Commander George Desborough Ward, (15 December, 1876 – 5 September, 1913) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

There appears to be some confusion about when and how Ward joined Britannia.

Ward was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1899.

Ward was promoted to the rank of Commander on 22 June, 1911 and placed in the battleship Queen.

In late August, 1913 he was hospitalised with a hernia in an old operation. He would die on 5 September, aged thirty-six.
