H.M.S. Naiad was one of 21 Apollo class second-class cruisers completed in the early to mid 1890s.

Service

Captain Francis Powell was court martialed and admonished for hazarding and stranding her on 1 September, 1892.[7]

She commissioned at Chatham on 23 August, 1910. In mid-1913, she was operating with the Minelayer Squadron in Second Fleet.[8]
