David Malcolmson Clarke
Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. David Malcolmson Clarke, R.D., R.N.R. (13 June, 1887 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 20 July, 1915.[1]
Clarke suffered an adverse report in 1917.[2]
Clarke was cautioned by the Senior Naval Officer, Granton to be more careful following a collision between his command Gretna and H.M.S. Dartmoor in 1919.[3]
He was demobilised on 15 January, 1920.[4]
Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 20 July, 1923. A 1926 report on his performance in the battleship H.M.S. Benbow, which was then a training ship for boys, lamented that there was little to call upon his considerable experience and standing.[5]
He was placed on the Retired List on 26 January, 1930. He was removed from the list on 27 July 1931, owing to non-report.[6]
