David Malcolmson Clarke

Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. David Malcolmson Clarke, R.D., R.N.R. (13 June, 1887 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 20 July, 1915.

Clarke suffered an adverse report in 1917.

Clarke was cautioned by the Senior Naval Officer, Granton to be more careful following a collision between his command Gretna and H.M.S. Dartmoor in 1919.

He was demobilised on 15 January, 1920.

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 20 July, 1923. A 1926 report on his performance in the battleship H.M.S. Benbow, which was then a training ship for boys, lamented that there was little to call upon his considerable experience and standing.

He was placed on the Retired List on 26 January, 1930. He was removed from the list on 27 July 1931, owing to non-report.
