Commander Cecil Wakeford May, (9 June, 1899 – 27 February, 1942) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

A Special Entry to the Navy, May first served in Canada from 1 March 1918 through 26 March 1919 when he moved to the {UK-Warspite}}.

May was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1921.[1]

May was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1929.[2]

May was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1936.[3]

May was killed when the destroyer Electra was sunk under his command at the Battle of Java Sea.
