Jump to navigationJump to searchH.M.S. Encounter spent her first six years in Royal Navy service in the Australia Station before being transferred to the Royal Australian Navy as H.M.A.S. Encounter on 1 July, 1912.[1]
She was the first ship in the fledgling navy to fire in anger when she bombarded Toma Ridge on 14 September, 1914..
