Robert Alexander Cassidi
Commander Robert Alexander Cassidi, (18 November, 1893 – 31 March, 1966) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of an M.D..
From mid-May 1911 to January 1914 served in the battleship Agamemnon. On 6 May 1914 appointed to Roxburgh of the Third Cruiser Squadron, where he remained until being appointed to the destroyer Ferret on 27 June, 1915. In March 1916 he transferred to the "M" Class destroyer Nepean.
Cassidi was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1916 and appointed to the destroyer Midge on 13 June, 1916.
On 12 November 1917 he was placed in the destroyer Maenad. On 5 July 1918, he was directed to await the completion of H.M.S. Speedy and to join her upon commissioning. He remained in the ship until 14 November, 1920.
Cassidi was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1924.
Cassidi was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Commander on 18 November, 1938.
