Captain Michael Oliver Dundas Ellwood, D.S.O. (13 July, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Reverend Charles Edward Ellwood, Clerk in Holy Orders.[1]
Ellwood was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 Julky, 1916, which was adjusted to 15 April, 1916.[2]
Ellwood was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1924.[3]
Ellwood was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929. He pled guilty in a Court Martial in early 1933 on a charge of neglect of duty when Shamrock was taken under tow.[4]
Ellwood was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 7 June, 1934. He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 13 July, 1939.[5]
