Commander Julian Herbert Woodbridge, R.N. (6 January, 1878 – May, 1921) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Uxbridge, the son of T. H. R. Woodbridge, Esq..

Woodbridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1899.

In November, 1904, Jellicoe noted that Woodbridge was, "rather slow & apathetic."

Woodbridge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1911.

Woodbridge was appointed in command of the destroyer Albacore in January, 1912.[1]

On 3 December, 1913, he was appointed in command of the destroyer Crusader.[2]

On 21 June 1916, he was sent to the hospital, suffering from tuberculosis.

On 25 October 1918 he was admitted to Haslar Hospital and deemed "unlikely to be fit for further service."

Woodbridge was placed on the Retired List as unfit on 24 January, 1919. He died in or around May, 1921 at Los Andes, Chile of an illness contracted in the service. The exact date of death was not recorded.
