Admiral Arthur William Edward Prothero, Royal Navy, Retired (18 April, 1850 – 1 January, 1931) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Prothero was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1886.[1]

Prothero was appointed to Vivid for command of the Devonport Fleet Reserve on 11 July, 1902, and took command of the Temeraire and Fleet Reserve on 16 July.[2]

Prothero was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 2 December, 1908,[3] and on 20 March, 1913, was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List.[4]
