Admiral Stuart St. John Farquhar, Royal Navy, Retired (2 October, 1865 – 8 February, 1941) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Farquhar was made a Lieutenant on 24 April, 1886.[1]
Farquhar was admitted to Haslar hospital on 26 July, 1890 to be treated for gonorrhea.[2]
Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1898.[3]
Captain
Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1905.[4]
He was appointed Captain of the armoured cruiser Kent on 3 November, 1909 on the China Station.[5]
He was married on 26 June, 1913.[6]
Great War
He was appointed in command of the battleship Britannia on 19 July, 1916.[7]
Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 26 April, 1917.[8] He was placed on the Retired List on 27 April.[9]
Retirement
Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 6 April, 1922,[10] and advanced to the Admiral on the Retired List on 25 October, 1926.[11]
