Captain (retired) Alfred Bowman, (30 July, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Prior to entering the Navy in June, 1907, Bowman was a gardener. He was born in Tunbridge, Kent.

Bowman was promoted to the rank of Acting Mate on 15 February, 1915. He would be confirmed in the rank with seniority of that same date. He was a good boxer.[1]

Bowman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1916.[2]

Bowman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1924.[3]

After being "most strongly recommended", Bowman was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1928. His Service Record contains no real information past this point.[4]

Bowman was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Captain on 30 July, 1938.[5]
