H.M.S. Katoomba was one of nine cruisers of the Pearl class completed for the Royal Navy in 1891 and 1892.

Service

In June 1906, she was listed for sale at a July 10th Portsmouth auction of "Obsolete War Vessels and Other Craft" as "Lot 3". Sisters Tauranga and Phoebe were also being sold.[6]
