Commander (retired) Arthur Laugham Noakes, (1 August, 1891 – 7 April, 1950) served in the Royal Navy. Cyril John Laugham Noakes was his brother.
Life & Career
The son of Reverend A. J. Noakes.
Noakes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1914.
Post-War
Noakes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1922.
On 8 September, 1924 Noakes was placed in command of the boats comprising Group "E" Submarines in Reserve at Portsmouth: L 11, L 21 and L 22.[1]
Noakes was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 3 August, 1934.
