H.M.S. Sapphire was one of four third class cruisers of the "Gem" class completed in 1904 and 1905.

Service

In early 1913, Sapphire was with the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla, but was ordered to transfer to Second Fleet from 1 July 1913, being replaced by Skirmisher after Manœuvres.[8]

She paid off at Sheerness on 30 April, 1919.[9]
